Everyday Life with Helen

Recently I've had lots of reader requests for daily life photos. So, on Monday I toted my camera around for most of the day and took some random snapshots! It was lots of fun. Enjoy!

Driving to a lunch meeting with Didier and Rachel. Here's a little peek at a color story for an upcoming project we're planning.

We met up at and worked our details for our next project. Doesn't my sandwich look yummy? It's cheese and apricot preserves.

Didier's crepe. So pretty!

"Buy yourself flowers that make you gasp…." Love it!

On my coffee table at home. Love these. Oh, and in case you were curious, my store is closed on Mondays so this is my day to get a lot done at home and run errands.

Mail! I love it. These boxes were full of glasses and sunglasses we ordered for our local shop. I'm trying some on here.

Prepping photos for my blog (and eating watermelon). When at home I love blogging in bed… it's the best!

Pretty things. I've been on a cleaning and organizing kick this week. Nesting in our newlywed home!

OMG… Mr. Larson sanding the floors in my future closet room. He was covered in dust for most of the day. This was an all day project (actually all week… I just started moving in last night). It was so much work, but I'm thankful that my  spent so much time helping! I can't wait to share the finished room.

Making sun tea. It's the only thing I drink at home besides water. Peach, mint, raspberry… I love tea!

Well, thanks for peeking at my day. Next time I'll share a day when I'm at work because Didier wants to be a part of it too! Hope you are having a very lovely day, Helen

  • blogging in bed is the best, I totally agree! (just wish my bed was not in the basement, it would be tiny bit nicer :p )

  • This was such a nice little break from my workday. Thanks for sharing! That photo of the “Sand Man” made me laugh!

  • Love them all but that photo of Mr. Larson is amazingly awesome. I can’t wait to see your closet. I know I’ll just die of jealousy. We live in an old house that has these funny closets in each room where the ceiling slopes down. They’d be great play spots for kids, and they’re huge, they’re just so low to the ground that you can’t get in them unless you’re on your knees. *sigh*

  • haha, that picture of jeremy is so funny. he obviously loves you very much.

  • I just brought new glasses exactly like the ones you wearing, I must say they are super cool 🙂

  • adorable. i love when we get to see people’s ordinary/daily tasks–you can really get a feel of who they are!

  • That watermelon looks great! I have heard that refinishing wooden floors can be quite the task! It takes forever, but once you get it right, the results are soo worth it.

  • i enjoyed this insight into your everyday! (: does jeremy take a day off on monday, too? (sorry for being so curious.) lovely… i can’t wait for the photos of your new closet and your day at work.

  • Cute! Looks like you had a lovely day!

You’ve inspired me to do a post about my friend’s and my little nightly adventure – thanks!

  • LOVE this!! You should make this a regular feature! Also – you should share some sun tea recipes or how to’s. I don’t know how and it looks yummy 🙂

  • I loveee this! I really love being able to get a sneak peak into people’s lives. Your day looks absolutely lovely! I can’t wait to see a glimpse into your work day <3

  • get that boy a mask! seriously, he was probably kicking up some nasty particles/chemicals and we want Mr Larson to be around for a long time!!

  • How do you make sun tea?? I don’t drink anything at home other than water and herbal tea too, but I always make my teas hot and that’s no good on hot summer days. Your sun tea looks so yummy and refreshing 🙂

  • Oh, I love the Seventeen magazines. I have been able to collect some, and I actually remember that Twiggy cover from when I was “seventeen”! ( Guess that dates me back a bit!) Colleen Corby was my favorite model and she was on many of the covers.
Thank you for sharing your slices of life! Wishing you and Mr. L. all of the best things!

  • love those colors on that sneeky peek 🙂 also, love the nail color, what is it? thanks for sharing a bit of the everyday…it’s always fun to see.

  • Lovely photos! Your day looks lovely, and full of the nicest kind of busy-ness.

  • Can I just say your blog honestly is such inspiration for me and my own blog. I love your use of simple photography in all your posts.

  • I have a hefty stack of old Seventeen magazines, from the early 70s. They are all cut/torn up and lots of images were used in collages.

  • 3 things

    1. Where did you get that adorable shirt?

    2. What kind of cheese is with the apricot preserves?

    3. Can you give specific detailed instructions on how to make your sun tea?
