DIY Hydrating Sheet Mask

DIY Hydrating Sheet Mask- click through for the full tutorial! As we’ve gotten older, our interest in skincare has risen. We’re starting to see fine lines, so we’re doing everything in our power to keep them in check. Over the past year, we’ve been drawn to more natural skincare products. They’re gentler on the face and we feel better about putting them on our skin.

Sheet masks have to be the best thing to come out of the Korean beauty world. The sheet locks the serum into your skin so you see results faster and sometimes instantly. However—sheet masks can be pricey, sometimes costing upwards of $100! Yikes. We decided to try our hand at making our own masks at home. This way we can control what ingredients are in the mask and save some money!

  • This looks great! Very interested in trying this myself, a few questions:
What is the purpose of using Squalane? Can we use a substitute or not add it in at all?
Is it okay to use another oil besides rosehip oil, such as avocado oil?

    • Rosehip and avocado are both fairly dry oils and should be able to be substituted here, however this may not be true universally among carrier oils. Just my opinion but hope it helps! Planning on adapting this recipe as well to best fit my routine.

  • I love sheet masks but never got to try making one on my own! This is so interesting. Korean skincare products are really good but I agree some can be pricey. This is a great alternative. Great job girls! 🙂

  • Cool ideas 🙂 I’m a big sheet mask/clay mask fan. Would love to see other mask recipes

  • My issue with sheet masks is that it’s hard to find cruelty-free versions, so this is a great alternative!

  • What a great idea!!! I’ve been avoiding face masks since I bought one recently and the ingredients were super freaky and chemical laden. This looks super fab.

  • This is so cool, i had no idea we can find sheet mask to “customize” like that, awesome discovery thanks girls! xo

    this is a great idea!
